Bosch Working on Self-Driving Vehicle Technology, Use 2014 Tesla Model S for Demonstration, More Details!
Tesla’s Model S was the vehicle of choice for the showcase of Bosch’s autonomous driving technology, and according to reports, Bosch have managed to implement various parts of a self-driving vehicle into their current project. The car is already capable of adaptive cruise control, supports road sign assist, and automated parking. And now, the company is also looking to add a traffic jam assist, which will bring cars one step closer to true self-driving vehicles, allowing them to take control of the car’s acceleration, braking and steering in order to deliver a more efficient driving experience.
Reviewers agree that the all-electric Tesla Model S delivers immediate power from a stop and instantaneous acceleration that few cars can match on the highway. Some say the Model S is exceptionally quiet at speed, and feels quicker than many luxury sports cars. The base Model S gets 94/97 mpg-equivalent city/highway, and has a 208-mile range. Reviewers report that the Tesla Model S has strong brakes and quick steering. They also praise its smooth ride and nimble handling, especially when equipped with an adjustable air suspension.
Tesla Motors’ second model after the discontinued Roadster, the Model S is a large 5-door liftback, built by what is essentially a tech start-up company. First shown to the public at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as a prototype, it hit the streets by the summer of 2012. Totalling 20,000 in sales so far, it even became the top-selling car overall in one or two European countries once it reached there in mid-2013, while handily beating out the cheaper Chevy Volt earlier this year in the United States.
Tesla Motors, Inc. is an American company that designs, manufactures, and sells electric cars and electric vehicle powertrain components. Tesla Motors is a public company that trades on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol TSLA. In the first quarter of 2013, Tesla posted profits for the first time in its history. Tesla first gained widespread attention following their production of the Tesla Roadster, the first fully electric sports car. The company's second vehicle is the Model S, a fully electric luxury sedan, and its next two vehicles are the Models X and 3. Tesla also markets electric powertrain components, including lithium-ion battery packs to automakers including Daimler and Toyota. Its CEO, Elon Musk, has said that he envisions Tesla Motors as an independent automaker, aimed at eventually offering electric cars at prices affordable to the average consumer. Pricing for the Tesla Model 3 is expected to start at US$35,000 before any government incentives and deliveries are expected to begin by 2017.

This feature allows when someone sit on the seat it e4tect the sensor. It has excellent space in the car for cargo so passengers can take luggage along with its journey.
But from a Tesla owner's point of view, the car has been improved far more by numerous updates to its computer software than by a handful of hardware changes--many of which can't be retrofitted.
Model X: A tall wagon built on the Model S platform will appear in late 2014. It's distinguished from the rest of the electric-crossover crowd—oh, wait, there is no crowd—by its vertically opening "falcon wing" rear doors. An optional second motor on the front axle gives it four-wheel drive, as well as a claimed 50-percent increase in torque—plus a sub-five-second zero-to-60 time.
